Lovely weather and scenery at Porthcawl this morning.

Lovely weather and scenery at Porthcawl this morning.
Lovely walk at Rest Bay this morning – it was very hot too.
Last Saturday we decided to take a drive through Brecon, Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells and on to Newtown, where we lived for nearly four years in the late 1990’s.
On the way home we came via Llanidloes and Rhayader, stopping off at the Eden Valley Resevoir.
As we crossed the Brecon Beacons the sun shone across the resevoir there too.
Today, we should have flown to Corfu this morning and we should now be settled into our two week holiday at Restia Suites. Instead, due to COVID-19, we went for a drive to Barry Island, via Cardiff Bay, Penarth Marina, Penarth and Swanbridge.
Having finished stealing from the bird feeder, the baby squirrel decided to enter the bird house. Unfortunately, having opened the door to get a better picture, he became camera shy and decided to move into next doors garden.
So peaceful at the stepping stones this morning
During last week’s walk, the whole peacock family came out for a photograph
We have hard the first red raspberries of the year. Unfortunately, the birds stole them before they could be picked 😬
Only two walks this week but on Tuesday, the peacock decided to show his best side
and the horses were enjoying the early morning sun
This morning, in our back garden, this little fella was trying his best to eat the bird’s peanuts
No walking today, gardening instead. Planted some beans and sweet corn alongside our solitary tomato plant.
We also planted our latest plant, a Daphne for Daphne!
Sadly, the poppies are starting to die off
This is how they looked when they first bloomed
How the weather can change in a week. Last Monday, as I walked to Merthyr Mawr, the sun was high in the sky and it was very warm. Wednesday’s walk was in the rain and slightly cooler. On Friday, it was neither wet or cold, perfect weather for a walk but as you will see below, there were plenty of clouds over Ogmore Castle.
