Last year, my mum had a stroke in May and sadly died in August 2017. Having seen her suffer for three months, I decided I needed to change my lifestyle and do something that my mum would be proud of. I set myself a Challenge – to run the Cardiff Half Marathon.
With grateful thanks to my great friend Tony who has dragged me through training, the Cardiff Bay 10k, the Whitchurch 5k and the Cardiff 10K, today I met my challenge and completed the Cardiff Half Marathon.
A massive thank you to Tony but also, I’m sure my mum was looking down on me today helping my along.
That’s a lovely post, Robert.
A great achievement and I’m sure your Mum would be hugely proud of you, as you should be of yourself.
No need for thanks – the pleasure is all mine, as I look forward to each and every run we undertake together, and it’s been great to see you progress over the past year.
Your determination to succeed has been astonishing, culminating in a fantastic run on a wonderful occasion today.
Well done, mate
Cheers Tony.
And now we need to build up to the 2019 run!
