Cardiff Blues v Gloucester

Trip to Gloucester was far more eventful than the match.

Having picked up our friends we headed east on the M4, hoping to head north on the A449 to Gloucester. However, with the conversation in full swing I missed the turning for A449. Not a problem, we thought, just keep going and join the M5 – a faster if not longer route anyway. Bad decision as there was an accident on the M5, white van overturned and driver airlifted to hospital closing two lanes and resulting in an hours delay. Finally through the accident area and time to put foot down to catch up on some time, having already lost an hours pre match drinking time. Fortunately not driving in outside lane as someone decided to leave their pile of bikes in it, must have fallen off car and passengers hadn’t noticed. Imagine their surprise when they reached their destination!

Got to Gloucester eventually and told game was delayed by half an hour, Blues coach also caught in traffic on M5. Found a parking space, then a pub with all drinks at £2.50 – bargain and then off to ground. Zara Phillips was in front of us at ticket office.

The game was very poor. Not sure when we will see the proper Blues team turn up for a pre season match, hopefully at Bath next Friday.
